In today’s increasingly paperless world, data is your working tool.
That’s why you’ve probably installed a data backup solution, and you were right to do so!
However, you need to be aware that, in the event of a serious problem, the data in your backup will have to be restored on your machines, and that this operation can prove tricky.
For this reason, we encourage you to carry out regular tests to check that you have all the keys in hand to restore your data after a crash.
RULES OF CONDUCT FOR DISASTER RECOVERY
Rule 1: be aware of the value of your data and the fragility of your infrastructure
You may be aware of the value of your data, but you may be too lax when it comes to the quality of your backup system.
Your infrastructure is fallible, and may encounter problems of an internal or external nature, resulting in the partial or total loss of your data.
It’s vital to be aware of this, and to make the right decisions when choosing your hardware.
Rule no. 2: invest in an appropriate, high-quality backup solution
It’s not enough to choose the most expensive solution on the market to protect yourself against the risks of data loss.
Above all, you need to find the solution best suited to your organization.
Our sales staff are trained and experienced in backup issues, and can advise you on the best solution to implement.
Rule no. 3: prepare for the possibility of restoration and carry out regular tests
Once again, it’s not enough to simply make a backup.
Once the crash has occurred, you need to restore the data saved on your machines.
This is a delicate stage, since it depends on how well prepared you are.
For this reason, we often encourage our customers to carry out data restoration tests: once a year is highly recommended.

Please note, however, that the test time is not necessarily indicative of the recovery time in the event of a real disaster.
