Migrating GSuite to Office 365

Why migrate from Google Apps to Microsoft 365?

It may be that when you chose your office system Google Apps was a better fit than Microsoft 365, it may even have been the only existing solution.
Indeed, while Google developed its collaboration tools offering as early as 2006, Microsoft waited until 2012 to launch a similar feature.
So, in the early years, Google was well ahead of Microsoft in offering more mature products.

Today, Microsoft has made up for lost time, and Microsoft 365 is a comprehensive, high-performance package.
As for choosing between Google Suite and Microsoft 365, it’s more a question of assessing your needs than deciding on performance.

Migrating from Google Suite to Microsoft 365: the promise

Microsoft recently published its roadmap for the next evolutions of its Microsoft 365 business suite.
On this occasion, the firm announced that from spring 2019, it will be possible to make a much easier transition from Google Suite (formerly Google Apps) to its collaborative tools solution.

We’ve heard the feedback and are delighted to announce the new G Suite migration experience, which will allow you to directly migrate Google G Suite emails, calendar and contacts to Office 365!
Our highly secure solution guarantees direct migration of your data to Office 365.
We’re also adding support for batch mailbox migration

…says the publisher on its website dedicated to the office suite.

Microsoft aims to relaunch Microsoft 365

According to some sources, the number of people migrating their Exchange e-mail data to Microsoft 365 has slowed considerably in recent times.
Microsoft has therefore introduced this tool to revive Office 365 subscriptions and boost growth.
By offering greater flexibility, Microsoft hopes to convince businesses and local authorities to switch to subscription-based Office services.

Google, for its part, has set up a tool for migrating data from Exchange to its own applications, but does not yet allow contacts or calendar information to be imported.
On this point, Microsoft has a head start when it comes to functionalities dedicated to professionals.
