Background and issues
We recently had the pleasure of working on a lovely hotel project, the first Swiss Luxury Apartments.
This project, supported by Crédit Suisse, Induni and Concordo, aimed to completely renovate a building on rue Philippe-Plantamour in Geneva into a high-end residential hotel.
Following a call for tenders, Infologo was selected to provide the following IT infrastructure: Wifi network, Avaya telephone exchange with DECT telephony for the rooms, and PCs for the business center.
But on this project, the equipment in the rooms is much more comprehensive than the classic “telephone – television” duo.
In fact, from the outset, the project was ambitious, with a very thorough integration of digital elements: TV, telephony, Hi-Fi, home automation.
The consulting engineer in charge of the project, Rémi Lopez, was kind enough to answer a few questions about this complete IT infrastructure.
Can you tell us what makes Swiss Luxury Apartments so special ?
From the outset, the project’s owners set the bar very high.
The hotel was built in a historic building in the center of Geneva.
Renovation work was carried out with the utmost care to keep this beautiful building intact, while providing all the comforts of a modern hotel.
The 24 suites are tastefully decorated and feature a wide range of amenities.
This is a unique project.
How are the rooms equipped ?
For the IT and home automation infrastructure, we wanted to provide maximum comfort.
Naturally, each suite has a TV in the living room, one in each bedroom, and one in the bathroom.
HD TV provides access to cable and satellite channels, as well as a comprehensive multilingual VOD service.
But the TV can also be used to control the temperature and lighting in the various rooms.
The home automation system is perfectly integrated with the TV system.
Of course, everything can be controlled from iPhone-style touch-switches on the wall.
We can save your settings so you can enjoy the same level of comfort the next time you visit.
This is the level of comfort expected today by the clientele of this type of establishment.
Customer testimonial
“We’re really pleased with our deployment.
We are very close to our initial vision.
The integration of the various bricks, notably VDA for TV/Home Automation, Infologo/Avaya for telephony, Pointvue/Polycom for the videoconferencing room, has gone very smoothly.
Customers themselves seem very satisfied, as this establishment is one of the best rated in Geneva on the booking.com reservation site. “
