AWS – market leader in cloud infrastructure services

Canalys estimates that Amazon Web Services recorded growth of 45% in the last quarter of 2017, representing sales of $5.1 billion and, according to Canalys, a 32% market share.
Another firm specializing in telecoms market analysis, Synergy Research, estimates that AWS’s market share grew by 0.5% year-on-year, making the cloud infrastructure market (IaaS, PaaS, hosted private cloud) grow by 46% over the past year.

Microsoft and Google in the top 3 for cloud infrastructures in 2017

According to Synergy Research, Microsoft recorded the strongest growth in the last quarter of 2017, at 98%, a percentage that propels the IT giant into second place in the top 3 cloud infrastructures in 2017.
Its market share is estimated at 14%, putting it ahead of Google (8% market share).
The latter mentions that Google Cloud Platform services, including G Suite, bring in $1 billion per quarter.
The market for cloud solution providers has become ultra-competitive in recent years.
