Context and issues faced by the Foundation
The Fondation Au Cœur des Grottes is a Geneva-based home for women and their children who are victims of violence and human trafficking.
This foundation, founded in 2006, has a long history dating back to 1902.
It has distinguished itself by its historical expertise in the fight against these problems, as well as by its pronounced taste for innovation in the way it supports its residents.
Identified needs
Following an institutional crisis in 2018, the Foundation conducted an external audit to identify all organizational issues.
When the new management took over in 2019, the Foundation was starting from scratch, with everything to do, including the management of the outdated, unsecured IT structure.
A call for tenders was therefore launched to outsource the Fondation Au Cœur des Grottes’ IT, modernize the infrastructure and enable staff to use simple, efficient and secure tools.
At the same time, the Covid19 epidemic arrived, creating a new and urgent need for laptops and access to Teams for every employee, so that they could work remotely.
Proposed solutions
To meet the foundation’s IT needs, our team has been managing their entire IT infrastructure since 2020 in the form of managed services.
Here’s what’s involved:
- 2 Firewalls recently installed Rue Rousseau and Rue de l’Industrie 14 ;
- 1 NAS ;
- 6 network switches (3 in Rue Rousseau / 3 in Rue de l’Industrie) ;
- 31 Wifi access points ;
- Approximately 30 workstations;
- Automatic backups of data hosted on M365 and NAS ;
- Unlimited user support (approx. 30) ;
- Proactive management of the infrastructure linked to the managed services contract (moniroting, updates, etc.)
- Cybersecurity training and support.
Infologo provides them with Microsoft 365 licenses (around 50 licenses in all for their emails and hosting of certain data) as well as antivirus software for their workstations.
Recently, we commissioned a new site that will be able to house all the Foundation’s residents in a single location.
At present, the Foundation can accommodate around 41 residents and 28 children on various sites.
The Fondation au Cœur des Grottes benefits from a comprehensive managed services package for its IT infrastructure.
The results to date
Over the past 4 years, the results have been positive.
Infologo’s management takeover and modernization of the infrastructure have made it possible to facilitate and centralize exchanges, with undeniable speed of execution.
According to Mélinda Alessi, Head of Support Services, the support and progressive implementation of the IT infrastructure, while taking into account their needs and above all their financial resources, is a big plus.
