After Windows XP, it’s the turn of another benchmark operating system for businesses to bow out: Windows 7.
As of January 14, Microsoft is no longer providing support.

So which operating system should you migrate to?
How should you go about it?
If you haven’t already done so, here are a few recommendations.

End of support for Windows 7: what does it mean?

As of January 15, 2020, PCs running Windows 7 will no longer be updated.
This creates a number of problems if you really want to stick with this version:

  • No more bug fixes
  • No more security vulnerabilities to be fixed
  • No more technical support
  • Applications will gradually no longer be optimized for this version

A highly attractive source of cyberattack for cybercriminals to continue searching for and exploiting system flaws.
To their great delight, hackers are likely to be able to document and exploit flaws more easily, without them ever being corrected.

What you need to remember is that by keeping Windows 7, you run a real risk of piracy.

Now what?

Infologo strongly advises you to upgrade to Windows 10 before January 2020.
If you have any doubts about your IT infrastructure, don’t hesitate to contact us.

This is undoubtedly the most obvious choice, for several reasons:

  • The update process is specially designed and optimized to be simple and to preserve your personal files.
  • The interface is very similar to Windows 7, so you don’t have to change your habits.
  • You’ll find the same programs
  • You’re safe until 2025

How do I upgrade to Windows 10?

Go to the Microsoft website and download the upgrade wizard: To activate a copy of Windows 7, you will need to purchase a license.

If you’d like us to support you in this migration process, please don’t hesitate to contact our technical team.
