We’ll have to mourn the passing of Windows 7 in a few weeks’ time, with its death scheduled for January 14, 2020.
But by early 2020, other important products will also be affected, such as Windows Server 2008.
So the countdown has begun for many Swiss SMEs to upgrade their IT networks.

Windows 7 support lifecycle

Microsoft made a 10-year commitment to support Windows 7 when it was released on October 22, 2009.
At the end of this 10-year period, Microsoft was to cease supporting Windows 7.
And that day has arrived: the end of support for Windows 7 will be precisely January 14, 2020.
After this date, technical support and Windows Update software updates to protect your PC will no longer be available for the product.
