With the forthcoming launch of Windows Virtual Desktop, Microsoft is paving the way for cloud virtualization solutions for a Windows 10 space in multi-user mode.

Windows Virtual Desktop

The main difference between this new Microsoft offering and other VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) solutions on Azure is that these remote workspaces will be accessible for multiple sessions and users.
If you’re a business using Windows 7 virtual machines and you opt for Windows Virtual Desktop, a solution optimized for Office 365 ProPlus, you’ll benefit from free Windows 7 security updates, and this is with the aim of enabling businesses like yours to “support legacy applications as they transition to Windows 10”(source).
The Windows Virtual Desktop offering enables both desktops and applications to be virtualized.
You’ll be able to take advantage of all Windows elements, or just the applications of your choice. Windows Virtual Desktop also lets you deploy and manage virtual machines with Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 10 Enterprise and Windows Server 2012 R2+.
While we await the launch of Windows Virtual Desktop, we’re also waiting for the answer to another question that experts are asking:

How will Windows Virtual Desktop be integrated with Microsoft Managed Desktop (MMD), another recently unveiled DaaS offering offering complete PC support.
